Have you ever wondered the history behind modern chairs and sofas! There are so many imitations around us, that we tend to forget the original esthetic designs. Here's a few of my favorites..
Ludwing Mies Van Der Rohe, a German minimalist, designer and architect designed this famous "Barcelona Chair" in the 1920's. He spread modernism via an organization called "Novembergruppe".
Charles Eames and Ray Kaiser experimented with fiberglass and moulded-plywood in the 1940's and designed these stunning chairs below.
Arne Jacobeson, a Danish architect and designer designed these chairs and more in the 1950's. His work for Radission SAS Hotel become a classic, and his best seller was the black chair a.k.a. "Number 7 Chair" as seen below which sold over 5 million pieces!
