Quilts have provided warmth for centuries and go back to ancient Egypt and China where layers of fabrics where stitched together to create heavier blankets for comfort. Quilt Discovery Experience. I also found an old quilt made around 1360's in Sicily, Italy:
It is quite interesting to see how this design has evolved from blankets to furniture. This is a new trend in interior design; the key is bringing in the right amount of quilted pieces into your home. Even though quilts look traditional, it is easy to blend in this style of furniture with eclectic, modern or retro designs. I can totally see any of these furniture in my house.. how about you?
